This November, Shesh Besh, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s Arab-Jewish ensemble, comes to Oxford and London for a special week of music, education and dialogue, marking the launch of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s 90th Anniversary Year in the UK.
For more than 25 years, Shesh Besh has brought Arab and Jewish musicians together, blending Western classical and Middle Eastern musical traditions to create a distinctive and vibrant sound.
At a time when the world feels increasingly fractured and polarised, Arab and Jewish musicians standing side by side — listening, creating and performing together — carries a powerful message of hope.
The week will culminate on Wednesday 11 November with a Celebration Supper and Concert in Central London, launching the Orchestra’s 90th Anniversary Year in the UK.
Through their music and engagement with audiences across Oxford and London, Shesh Besh will celebrate artistic excellence, education, dialogue and the extraordinary ability of music to build bridges where words so often fail.
Feature in the IPO 90th Anniversary Celebration Book. Your page will sit alongside the story of this milestone year, seen by every guest on the night.
